Message from the Chairman
Pakistan has never been short of capable young people. What it has been short of is proof — a certificate an employer can rely on, issued by a body that stands behind it. A skilled worker with no recognised credential is invisible in the job market, and that invisibility costs families their livelihood and the country its productivity.
The Global Board of Technical & Professional Education exists to close that gap. We affiliate training institutes against published criteria, approve assessment centres, register courses and candidates, conduct examinations, and issue certificates that can be verified by anyone, at any time, without needing to telephone this office.
Two principles govern how we work. The first is that our criteria are published before they are applied — an institute is entitled to know the standard it will be judged against, and to prepare for it. The second is that a certificate is only worth what its verification is worth; if a document cannot be checked, it will eventually be forged. Everything the Board builds is built around those two commitments.
To the institutes considering affiliation: our process is demanding because it has to be, but it is transparent from the first step to the last. To the candidates: a qualification from this Board is a statement about what you can actually do. And to employers: when you receive one of our certificates, you are entitled to verify it — and we would rather you did.
